The Crew

Ian: Captain, all round handy man, best chef and the man that is most often likely to say “Well that was an adventure!”

Malia: Crew, writer, photographer, scaredy cat but willing to try just about anything at least once when convinced by Ian saying “What could possibly go wrong!”

Togetherness: We met when Sinead O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2U”, Billy Idle’s “Cradle of Love” and Paula Abdul’s “Opposite Attract” were on the music charts.

We became parents when our TVs were showing “Friends”, “ER” and “the Vicar of Dibley” for the first time. And again, the year “Titanic”, “The Fifth Element” and “Good Will Hunting” were released in theatres.

We both retired and became doting Grandparents the year Beavers were given legal protection in England. (look it up, it’s a thing)

Our sailing experience: When we bought Longo Maï we had enough sailing experience to spell “sailboat” but we’re still floating so we must be fast learners.

Before the adventures: We both had frustrating, and stressful, yet strangely fulfilling careers which we left in our rear view mirrors much like Jake and Elwood Blues epic car chase.
